Brooklyn, NY — October 27th, 1979 was a special day in the history of St. Vincent & The Grenadines.  It was on that day that, St. Vincent & The Grenadines achieved Full Independence from The United Kingdom.

    i just cry , because with coming along, i grow up in Honduras where a history was just 2 lines, i always usted think about are ancestor, i just to think we come from Africa, now i feel very proud to know are rich history and the more importan are struggle we are strong and family orienteded. Viva los Garifuan.

    If we do not know who we are as a people, as a culture, then where are we going? It is a systematic ploy for no one of color to know their heritage, therefore this information is vital to our existence as Garifuna people. Bless you for your informative ourstory.
